Error Definitions

a.       Definition – An Error Definition is used for two purposes.  Foremost it is a template for a Search String on log files.  Perl regular expressions can be entered to search for log files. The error definition then can be associated to Application or Component level objects.  Error definitions are also used for defining the template for an Error Event.  When Analysis Rule is violated for example, it will use a Error Definition to decide what Event to generate.
